To Create my own printable vinyl nativity set, I first went out to the internet and found a free printable nativity set which was a six page printable. Here is page 1 opened up in silhouette Studio:
Notice that I have the registration marks turned on so that the Cameo can cut exactly where I want it to. In the second picture, I have moved the image out of the way so that you can see that I have created a cut line for the images.
So, then I just print and cut using my inkjet printer and Silhouette Cameo and repeat this process for all of the pieces of the nativity. Now at this point you could place all of the pieces on a serving tray, or on your wall or door or in your kids’ room. But I chose to make it more 3 dimensional and I put all of the pieces onto a board and then cut them out with a band saw. Some of you may not have access to these tools, but if you do, it is a fun, kid-friendly nativity set you can make.
Today, I made a puzzle for my friend’s son’s birthday. All I did was find a fun picture to print on vinyl. In this case, I chose a picture of the Flying Tigers because he loves airplanes. Then, I printed it out and stuck the picture on a piece of wood. I used 3/4″ MDF because that’s what I had, so you could use whatever you have. This project involved some power tools, so it was a lot of fun! I cut the board to the size of the picture using a table saw, then I used a band saw to cut out the shapes of the puzzle. I only cut it into 9 roughly square shapes so that it wouldn’t be too hard for him to do. After I had my pieces, I inked the edges of each piece just to give it a little bit on an antique look.
In this project, I used a magnetic white board. I then printed out the months and days of the week, and days of the month on Printable Vinyl, then I stuck the ones that need to be rearranged each month on magnets so they would be easily movable. I used strips of plain black cricut vinyl to create the grid of the calendar. It went from one plain dry erase board to a fun calendar that is good all year round with the help of printable vinyl!!
I created this Valentines Day card using only my computer, printer, Silhouette SD, and Printable Vinyl. I took a couple of different “papers” and layered them together, then I layered on the birds and the center image. I then just had to print out the project on my vinyl and cut it out and stick it onto a blank card!
You notice the “kiss me” and “hug me” surrounding the project. I had them cut in a circle, and used those to take full advantage of my sheet of vinyl, then I peeled them off and stuck them on the bottom of Hershery’s kisses and hugs!
In this project, I printed out a sheet of this red plaid on my printable vinyl, and used it to cut out names to place on glass blocks, I happened to use a cricut to cut these names out, and I also used one of their little star shaped ornaments to embellish the blocks a little bit. Then I popped popcorn with my air popper and filled the blocks to add even more depth and texture. Here is the video:
